Robin Palay, M.A. C.C.C.-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist

Robin earned her B.S. in Communication Disorders from Boston University in 1997 and her M.A. in Speech and Hearing Sciences - Speech-Language Pathology from Ohio State University in 1999. She has been working for the Sheridan School District as a speech-language pathologist, Special Education Team Leader, and CSAP-A co-coordinator since 1999. Robin currently serves on numerous teams and committees such as the Traumatic Brain Injury Team, SWAAAC (Assistive, Alternative, and Augmentative Communication) Team, Child Study Team, Intervention Team, and Staff Advisory Board. Throughout the past two years, Robin has had the opportunity to participate in various literacy trainings. One such training focused on the F.A.S.T. (Foundations of Analysis, Synthesis and Thoughtfulness) Reading System Program which addresses the various components of reading including the blending, segmenting, and manipulation of sounds, as well as spelling, sound tracking, and reading and writing of sentences. Another on-going training is through Colorado Reading First which addresses the five components of literacy including phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency. Robin is also a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Colorado Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and Division 16 Special Interest Division (School-Based Issues in Speech and Hearing).

Robin has worked with Elizabeth since May 2002. Her interests and expertise include: Literacy acquisition and intervention, articulation and phonological disorders remediation, voice production and rehabilitation, accent modification, feeding and swallowing issues, sensory integration and self-regulation strategies, as well as childhood and adult language disorders.

Melissa Salazar

Melissa Salazar is a certified speech language pathologist who graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of New Mexico and a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from Eastern New Mexico University. She worked in New Mexico as a speech language apprentice for 5 years before joining the public school setting in Colorado as a SLP in 2003. She is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association and holds a license from the State of Colorado. She has worked with a variety of communication disorders including articulation, language and social language. She has attended continuing education courses that focus on the areas of social thinking, articulation, apraxia, fluency, language, behavior, reading comprehension, written language, neurological disorders and autism spectrum disorder.

Sherri L. McDaniel, B.A. SLPA
Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant

Sherri earned her B.A. in Communication Disorders and Speech Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1997. She earned her certification as an SLPA from Metropolitan State College, Denver in 2009 as she worked in the Douglas County School District. Most recently, she held a position as a contract SLPA under Denver Options providing speech therapy for children and families in their natural environments or at their school. She has worked with children from 1 year of age through 11 with a variety of communication disorders including articulation, language disorders, phonemic and phonological awareness skills, reading, writing,traumatic brain injury, speech fluency, autism, Spanish speaking children with English as a second language, and with non-verbal children that have developmental disabilities in order to teach them to use an augmentative device. Currently, she works with Elizabeth A. Fry, M.S., Shepherd of the Hills in Littleton, Colorado and the Douglas County School District as an SLPA.

Theresa Scala

Theresa Scala graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science degree. She is certified in the F.A.S.T (Foundations of Analysis, Synthesis, and Translation) Reading System Program and Love and Logic Parent® coach. She has worked in the Colorado School System with children who have learning differences and in the Vail Community with adaptive sports for the past 10 years. Theresa continues to increase her education and personal passion of working with children by attending annual conferences and continuing education courses that focus on the areas of Ortion-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, Sensory Integration, Brain Integration and Brain Gym.
